Tire Age:
Did you know? Tires have a date of manufactured imbedded on every tire. You could buy a tire that’s 2 or 3 years old before you put them on your car. Depending on how the tires were stored, they could already have signs of dry rot. We buy our tires on a “as needed basis” from a high volume distributor. This helps ensure we get fresh tires. “Yes, I said Fresh Tires” The picture illustrates how to find the code and what the code means. First two digits identify the week and the second two digits identify the year.
This is a picture of a tire we performed a courtesy check on. The customer had no idea how bad this tire was because the dry rot was on the inside of the tire and out of his view. Totally unsafe to drive.
